Fanø Free Folk Festival is warming up with two intimate concerts in Nørrebro with British Woodpecker Wooliams.
Tuesday: @Insula, Blågårdsgade 31
17:00 // free
Thursday @Det Poetiske Bureau, Griffenfeldsgade 22
21:00 // free
Woodpecker Wooliams has been compared with Joanna Newsom and Kate Bush. With the light psychedelic atmosphere and acoustic ballads, she will be ready to enchant the audience. Her fascination for bees has even made her call her music “psyck-bee-folk”. Give it a listen.
Both concerts are for free, but donations are accepted :-)

we visited 31 blagardsgade at 17.00 on tuesday the 20th only to find that the address is NOT called ‘insula’ and nothing was happening. it’s a pity that people waste time because irresponsible entries are posted on an otherwise nice website. as it happens we walked into the nearby assistens kirkegaard cemetery and spent an enjoyable evening, but that certainly does not make us feel very sympathetically inclined towards the organizers of the woodpecker williams event coming up tomorrow.

Hi,
I’m one of the organizers. I don’t know what have happened. I wasn’t at the place myself, but I talked to Woodpecker Wooliams about it, and she was definitely there, at the adress (where Insula indeed is, cos I’ve been there) and she said that a good group of people were there. so she was there, and an audience was there to witness it, as I had much positive feedback about that. I can’t really explain why you didn’t find it – I’m sorry if it has been confusing and you’ve wasted time. I can only say that I know the store is there (you can also see the page of the record store with the adress here: http://www.insulamusic.dk/) and that the event did take place.

@ Siddarth
It is a shame to hear that you wasted your time. But as explained by Rasmus, who was one of the organizers of the concert, the Woodpecker Williams concert did in fact take place at the announced place and time. I hope you will still be dropping by our site – and we’re always open for constructive feedback.
Cheers,

Strange, my girlfriend (who lives in Copenhagen and works two minutes away from the street) and I walked up and down the street twice, standing directly in front of number 31 at 17:00 on 20/07 without seeing any signs of activity, or indeed of it being open. But since so many people seem to have been there and it obviously happened, I can only conclude that we really were unobservant in some inexplicable way!
In any case, I would like to add that I have enjoyed using this website previously and will continue to do so in the future. Sorry to have missed out on woodpecker williams.
Best
Siddharth.
