From 14:00-late // free

Look forward to a local atmosphere when the well-known Nørrebro street takes on the annual street party. Summer has hit Copenhagen and this is one of the many occasions where the city has the possibility to show its very best.

Three stages around Blågårdsgade will make sure that everyone is entertained, and during the day, you can also find a flea market by the Church. Usually it is a good chance to hang out, bump into friends and share some nice food and drinks.

If you are a party animal, then go for one of the after-parties at Stengade, Støberiet or Global.

There’s plenty of 2200 Love for all.

Entrance 40 Dkk

11-16 // Entrance 40 Dkk

On sunday more than 100.000 LP’s, CD’s and DVD’s will turn Nørrebrohallen into a true Mecca for music lovers.

At the fair you will find pop, rock, heavy, soul, techno and classical music etc. from international as well as danish artists.

The state of the affairs will probably be a mix of new and second hand, where both unique and more mainstream things are to be found.

Normally there are a lot of attendants, which means you might want to get there early, if you are looking for something particular.

Anyways, stop by and take your time to dig into their cool stuff and be reminded of albums you almost forgot existed.

The entrance ticket is purchased at the door.

Alright alright, I know that DMI’s weather forecast is not that promising, but I also know that it is going to be 10 degrees (heat wave in Danish standards) and that a raincoat is great protection from the rain and wind.

And last but not least, I know that Ravnsborggade is hosting the first outdoor (to my knowledge) flea market this year. Do you know what mean? That’s right! It truly is spring!

19:00 – 00:00 //free entrance

If you’re looking for a sweet way to kickstart your weekend – don’t look any further, we have the perfect proposal for you.

Friday night Mike Sheridan, amongst other artists, fills Brorsons church (!!!) with heavenly vibes.

The church is going to be lit up by big projectors, the music is done live and semi improvised, the beautiful visuals are done by Obscura & Kobe and I don’t think the sound is going to be anything else than outstanding.

It’s an open concert and you can come and go as you like. But be there in good time if you want seats – I predict a packed church.

Bonus: Free roles and chili cocoa but no religious or other devine interventions.

See Mike Sheridan’s event on Facebook and the whole program at Brorsons Kirke

If you feel like having fun the copenhagen way, you must pay Drone a visit.

This Saturday the bar is celebrating it’s 2nd birthday with live music, free layer cake  and beer for the early guests.

At 22:00 the band ONE YEAR FROM HOME with the danish songwriter and producer Mads Brinch Nielsen in front will kickstart the party with some authentic, “human” music.

Later on the dj THE ADAM from the band The Good The Bad will play some rock ‘n’ roll, and hits from The Dirty Mac,  The Pretty Things, The Painted Faces and The Who will make sure you set your shoes on fire at the crowded dance floor.

It is going to be a wild night due to Drone’s likings, so if you are up for a proper party, this is the place to go.

3 March: ‘The Last Supper’ Documentary

20:00 – 23:00  // free entrance

The last supper has been given to prisoners facing the death penalty as long as the punishment has existed. The tradition stems from funeral rites where the deceased person was given food on his deathbed to protect him on his journey to the afterlife.

In this documentary, we meet a former American death row chef Brian Price, who reconstructs one of the 200 final meals that he prepared during his time as inmate in Huntsville State Prison, Texas, US.

The Last Supper focuses on the discrepancy between historical “meaning” and the contemporary use of a tradition that has lost its connection with the past. The end-result is a frightening, revealing and contemplatative documentary, that looks at the self-contradictory practice of giving a dying convict their choice of last meal, before killing them.

The film mixes documentary material with sculptural installations and animated graphics.

After the documentary, FilmStationen will serve a small, “last meal” for guests.

Poteo office, Jægersborggade 31, Copenhagen N Show map

18:00-23:00 // free entrance

The guys behind the Poteo idea invites you to join the release of their new application.

The concept behind the Poteo idea consists of a loyalty system between smartphone users and various cafes and shops around Copenhagen.

And you can already now take part in the Poteo treasure hunt since there are 100 QR codes around the streets and walls of the city. All you need to do if you find a QR code is to scan it with your smartphone.

Your scan triggers a coupon which you can then redeem at John’s Hotdog Deli. But only if you find it first. Rumour has it that one of the codes will trigger a brunch for two.

So drop by the release night and drink a glass of champagne with the Poteo guys and get introduced to the app. John will be dropping by to make special edition Poteo hotdogs for everyone.

Check out the facebook page for updates and hints or follow @PoteoRemarks on twitter.

[postponed]: Potato Fuga Domino

Posted 9 November 2010 by Anne
@ Osram House, Valhalsgade 4, Copenhagen N Show map

20:30 // I think it’s for free

New date for the event will be posted as soon as possible

Experience a composition created in collaboration between a composer, an author, a sound artist, a visual artist and a chef. Everything is about a potato.

The cross-disciplinary fuga will consist of food preparation combined with poetry, film, piano and a live-mixing of everything. The kitchen of the house sets the scene, the rhythm, the melody is spiced up by the different ingredients.

Sounds like an evening to remember.
