News: Hello Roskilde!

Posted 24 June 2010 by Anne

This is just to let you know that the following  week, the Hello Copenhagen editorial team will be moving to Roskilde Festival. Not really to blog a lot, but mostly to have fun and hear some great concerts.

So, the lack of upcoming events is not because we have fallen asleep, but because Roskilde will be the place to be. You can still get one-day tickets.

Besides all the great concerts you can find in the official programme, there are also many other things to experience such as spontaneous parties, random happenings and crazy people. In other words: we like Roskilde Festival.

If you are an early bird at Roskilde and have some spare time, check this out:

27-30 JUNE: CONTEMPORARY ART
@ Expression stage, Camping East
In the introducing days, Roskilde Museum of Contemporary Art presents a programme of performance and sound art in connection to one of their previous exhibitions centered on ‘action’. Check out the performances where action is art.

29 JUNE: PECHA KUCHA NIGHT  #14
@ Expression stage, Camping East // 13:00-14:30

The usual concept of 20×20 has gone festival. The presenter has 20 slides of 20 seconds to tell the audience about their passions and creative ideas. Come and hear something about poetry, the pool, street art, the Roskilde Festival school and much more. The shows are usually great and I think this will be no exception. After the presenters, there will be a shout out, where the audience is invited to go on stage and present their input in 20 seconds.

30 JUNE: ROSKILDE TWEETUP
@The Swimming Lake, Agora K, Camping East // 15:00-18:00

If you are a Twitterholic, then go meet fellow tweeps and maybe find yourself a new friend IRL. #RoskildeTweetup will on this #RF10 support the cause ‘Denmark against Landmines’. Be fast to get one of the highly attractive TweetUp t-shirts. http://roskilde.tweetup.dk/

30 JUNE: SUPERBACON & WAQAR PARTY
@ Roskilde Skate, Camping West // 21:00-24:00

Wednesday parties rock at Roskilde Festival. Top DJs Kasper Bjørke + Tomas Barfod + Waqar have been invited to bring you a killer 3-hour rave. Superbacon has previously been throwing parties in Berlin, Brussels and Copenhagen and will tour clubs in Europe during summer.

1 JULY: FLASHMOB
@ around the bridge between camping East and West // 16:00-16:02

Be around the bridge five minutes to 4. At 4 o’clock a person will shout “Der kommer spyd!” (Coming spike) and everyone will fall to the ground. Afterwards the same person will shout “false alarm” and everyone just stand up and walk away. Pure fun :-) Continue on and enjoy the festival.

Take care now.

News: Hello Copenhagen turns one year

Posted 16 December 2009 by Anne

hello birthdayExactly one year ago my friend Charlotte and I launched Hello Copenhagen for the first time – with some help from Genau.

The idea was to bring the other side of Copenhagen out in the open to those people new to the city, or to those being just a bit too lazy themselves to keep updated. Well, actually this is still the idea, and I hope you can use it.

In the meantime, Charlotte has left Hello Copenhagen. But lucky for me, new cool people have joined the site: Mai Ji and Ronni – crazy, energetic lovers of Copenhagen. And maybe, more people will join us soon to keep everything up and running.

All in all, after one year Hello Copenhagen is still here – curious and adventurous as ever, just wanting to show you the best of Copenhagen from our odd point of view. And most importantly, we have a great time doing it!

We look forward to see what 2010 has in store – and we’ll see you around…

News: Copenhagen is all about Climate

Posted 7 December 2009 by Anne

The UN Climate Change Conference is filling up Copenhagen with lots of people from all around the world. We really like the fact that Copenhagen for once is embracing the rest of the world. The summit is open for concerned citizen from around the world and everyone are welcome to go here and take part in the debate together with activists, academics, artists and writers and many others.
