1-24 December: StreetHeart Advent Calender

free

All around Copenhagen
Every day until midnight // free

During the entire decemember Streetheart gives you the chance to go hunting around the streets of Copenhagen.

In collaboration with 24 different artists StreetHeart invites you to explore the city at street level. And it’s quite simple, all you need to do is to go to StreetHeart’s website.

Here you will find a door for each day until Christmas, like any normal advent calender, in this case it’s just an interactive door.

Behind each door lies a clue to where in town you can find today’s street treasure. From here it’s all about putting on plenty of warm clothes and go treasure hunting in company with your loved ones.

Take a picture of the treasure (and yourself if you feel like it) and send the image to writeus@streetheart.dk before midnight. From here you can only hope that Santa will be ringing on your virtual door.

Good luck and good hunting!

All over Copenhagen Show map

Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival CPH: DOX, which in 2003 started out as Natfilm Festivalen, has been expanding ever since the start and has become Denmark’s ambassador in documentaries.

Over the next ten days the festival challenges the traditional boundaries between genres and media and apart from the many movies the program offers a wide range of cross-alliances between film, media, sound and art.

Here are a few star sprinkles from the program to you:

5 Nov: A metro ride to Norway @Kgs Nytorv metro st, 17:00 // free entrance
In cooperation with the Cph Metro the festival shows the much talked about film Bergensbanen – the 7-hour movie recorded through the windscreen of a train on the 377 km long journey from Bergen to Oslo in Norway.

Throughout the film the camera is kept in the same position while the train chugs over 300 bridges, through nearly 200 tunnels and numerous smaller cities in Norway.

The train journey begins in Kgs. Nytorv metro st and the experience will be spiced up with audio from Jonas Munk and DJ Kim LAS.

11 Nov: An afternoon w/ Ben & Josh Safdie @Teater Grob, 15:00-16:30 // free entrance
Experience the two American brothers and independent-darlings Ben & Josh Safdie talking about how they have conquered the festival world and the hearts of the audience through their poetic and dreamy everyday stories.

You also get the opportunity to see the movies ‘We Are Going To The Zoo’ (Josh) and ‘The Acquaintances of a Lonely John’ (Ben). There will be snacks and a free organic beer to all guests. Sounds like a cozy afternoon.

14 Nov: Animal Collective vs Danny Perez @the National Gallery SMK, 19:00-midnight // 200 Dkk
Along with their regular visual collaborator Danny Perez the experimental band Animal Collective presents the brand new installation ‘Globby Bodies’.

The concert is part of the AUDIO:VISUALS program that combines images and live music. This live performance which stretches over five hours will fill out four of the exhibition spaces in the building. So you can expect a barrage on your senses as the show will include installation, dj sets, video, space and various projections and sound systems.

7-18 December: Expanded Space

Posted 14 November 2009 by Anne

@ Avedøre Power Station, Hammerholmen 50, Hvidovre – can be seen from afar
16:30-19:30

expanded spaceAvedøre Power Station will be transformed into an interactive screen for a spectacular video projection. On the facades, an oversized 3D graphic of the industrial area will draw you into what seems a logic simulation of bounded space.

This illusion is quickly dissolved when small mobile units scatter the installation across the area, while the entire video projection starts to flutter in the wind as the windspeed increases.
