Copenhagen invites you to get winter jazzy for the next two weeks!

The annual Copenhagen Winter Jazz festival has kick-off today and runs for two full weeks, with big and small jazz concerts all over Denmark.

One of the ideas behind the Winter Jazz festival is to put focus on all the dedicated jazz places all over Denmark, and to encourage different music venues to be more jazzy..

Most of the concerts are being held at small music venues and have free entries.

So get out there – support your local music café or bar and get jazzier! It will definitely keep you warm in the winter cold!

Danish street artist called Armsrock has created a light installation at a distinct place in Copenhagen. The area around Sjælør Station is definitely not associated with anything trendy or fashionable, but has that rough urban feel, which has probably inspired Armsrock pick this place for an installation.

Get off the train at Sjælør, preferably at night time, and you will be met by a slideshow outside the station. Another slideshow awaits you if you turn right. Hang out for a bit to see people’s reactions as well.

The installations will be running from 29 October – 14 November 2010.

Go check out a good selection of Denmark’s unestablished and uncensored young contemporary artists at Galore. The days will be filled with both painting, installation, street art, drawings, experimental music and film screenings.

Activities will take place both inside, outside, up, down and in every possible corner. At Toftegårds Plads you can also participate in workshops: Thursday and Friday, you can redesign your furniture and Saturday, come pimp your bike.

This is the third time Galore takes place and this year about 100 artists are participating. Experience for instance the graffiti and street art collective called The Nom Nom Collective, which among others include the Danish street artists Lints.

Galore is organized by Kraftwerket – a platform run by Copenhagen Municipality for young people to play with art, culture and democracy.

With the launch of their new website the guys behind Actionhygge.com have put together an evening to celebrate the mix of action and hygge. The party takes place at Retortvej – an address best known from the COP15 climate summit where it was used as climate prison.

However this night the actionhygge crew will take over the location to create a party including two stages and lots of hygge.
