21 October: Streetmekka, 1 year B-day
Posted 20 October 2011 by Lene12:00 – 21:00 // no entrance fee
One year ago Copenhagen got this super cool street facilities’ area called StreetMekka. Streetmekka is an initiative to improve the circumstances for street culture in Denmark by offering dance-, parkour-, soccer-, DJ- and basket ball classes INDOOR.
It is kept loyal to the street by looking sort of rough inside with the graffiti decorated concrete walls and asphalted basket ball lots. No wonder Streetmekka has become real popular during the year and friday it is time to celebrate this!
On B-day ALL CLASSES ARE FREE and no matter if you would like to join in or just watch, I think there are some really cool things going on:
Dance battles, drawing workshops, DJ school, street soccer, concerts, double-dutch and live media coverage by DR.
No doubt it will be great and of course there is an after party to attend to as well. After party at Rust See you there!

Distortion is back to celebrate christmas! So bring your boomblaster, cell or clockradio! Come and join in for the big mobile soundsystem feat. Fåret + Lammet + Piratskibet + AUF Projects + Street Karaoke. Tune in 95.5 MHZ.
22 young artists showcase their conceptual works. Come by to see how the artists of today’s society see ‘value’ from an artistic perspective. There will also be live art perfomances and djs on Friday and Saturday evening will take care of a good atmosphere.
After the premiere of the new documentary about mega-cities – Cities on Speed – CPH DOX and ‘Music from …Around’ presents Columbian psychedelic cumbia-electronica as well as djs and vjs.
