18 April: CPH PIX – Horror Sounds

Posted 12 April 2010 by Mai Ji

@ Pumpehuset, Studiestræde 52, Copenhagen V
15:00-17:00 // Free

The movie fever has hit Copenhagen these days in connection with CPH PIX. In addition to enjoying various films, this Sunday afternoon you can also take part in a debate on horror effects and sounds.

Why do we feel horrified when a little girl suddenly gets the voice of the devil? Or when the cannibal whispers the name Clarice? Some of the most talented people  in Danish horror sounds will try to answer these questions.

Among other you will find director Martin Barnewitz (‘Kollegiet’ / ‘The Dorm’) and sound composer Peter Albrechtsen (‘Antichrist’) in the panel. You can expect plenty of movie clips and sounds. Afterwards there will be live sounds from Emil de Waal + Spejderrobot. They will all make your teeth rattle, so stay tuned and drop by – if you dare.

Nielson and Jacobi’s movie is also a part of the series ‘Cities On Speed’. It’s estimated that in 2030 more than 80% of the world population will be living in ‘megacities’. This growth creates new and unforeseen problems which require new ways of thinking and creative solutions.

On this Wednesday evening you can meet Camilla Nielson after the screening for a Q & A. Dj Our Soundtrack will be playing lovely tunes before and after the movie.
