4 September: Bazaar at The Candy Factory

Apparently, out at The Candy Factory they have so many weird and wacky things that they now have decided to through a bazaar.

You might find something useful and/or fantastic when The Candy Factory will be transformed into a bazaar factory for a day. And while you’re at it you might as well bring some of your own stuff that takes lots of space for no purpose.

Just write to bolsjefabrikken@gmail.com and sign up or simply show up on the day and set up your own booth.

Otherwise you can expect open acoustic scene, bazaar atmosphere, coffee and cake, tea and lots of true ‘kræmmerstil’ – for the tradesman inside you.

4 September: Party in ‘Pisserenden’

If you are out on a walk about this Saturday, you might as well drop by Teglgårdstræde located in the neighborhood known as ‘Pisserenden’.

This day will be all about the ‘hygge’ and the bar prizes will be suitable for all cheap asses (fx 10 shots for 100 Dkk.).

By urgent need for food you can buy a grill plate and to spice up the ‘hygge’ a group of dj’s has been called in to take the night shift.

In the middle of Fashion Week, STRØM and all sorts of exiting stuff happening – why not spice it all up by going to the flea market in Skt Peders Stræde this Saturday?

Inside the backyard of  no. 47 you can find clothes, shoes, posters, coffee and cake and this and that.

Put in another way: This is the place to be if you’re in the mood for hygge in the company of Retrosales, Hvass & Hannibal and Din Nye Ven.

So pack your wallet and fill up your pocket with coins from your piggy bank. And bring your friends, parents or a neighbor for a beer.

Grab your bike and be part of the biking culture that will take place around Halmtorvet. To round up VeloCity Global – the largest conference on bikes and biking culture, there will be three days of festive Copenhagen style hygge – biking style that is.

You can stop by the workshop, donate your bike to Africa, participate in the bike polo tournament or have a sneak preview of the Bicycle Film Festival. Mesteren & Lærlingen will host Thursday and Friday night after parties.

Saturday you can join the trip towards Roskilde Festival with Green Footsteps.  Departure at 10 o’clock.

Yes – we still need to say that we usually don’t write about events like this because it’s a reading held in Danish. And yes – we still have to admit that it’s an event too cozy to be left out.

The concept is the same: You enjoy a rustic dinner in a really candle light dinner way while pampering your ears with poetry from some of the most inspiring writers in DK.

This time you can enjoy an excellent storytelling by writers Søren Ulrik Thomsen, Dy Plambeck and Morten Søkilde and surely you can expect to be drawn by the live imagery from all three writers.

If you want to be sure to get a table you should definitely book as soon as possible.

The old train area in outer Nørrebro will be have a cultural bombardment. Chill-out in the lounge, have a picnic, taste the world, and get new experiences.

There will be everything from Flashmobs, free-style biking, interactive painting, graffiti-dance and crispy tunes from the djs.

Sounds like three days of explosive urban culture….

To mark the beginning of the summer session Vesterbro Market is hosting its first event this year on Saturday.

It’s the second year that Vesterbro Market hits the neighborhood so swing by if you wish to make a good deal at the flea market. If you get thirsty along the way there are plenty of opportunities to buy cold sodas at cafe Dyrehaven.

At previous events it’s been popular to taste the delicious spare ribs from the BBQ, so it’s going to be a nice relaxing Saturday no matter what.

Late Night Hunting is a concept where all street stores and small cafes are open. This means that all the fun begins when the street usually tend to shut down.

Among others you can enjoy a BBQ from Manfred’s – grilled Cumberland sausages from Svendsen the Butcher, cheap espresso from The Coffee Collective, sofa concert with Mademoistella or participate in the Arcade games competition on authentic grill machines from the 90s.

Or you can of course also just enjoy the various exhibitions, hang out and relax. Oh yes – vinyl shop Æter has invited dj Cavio.

Usually we don’t write about an event like this, because it’s a reading held in Danish. But it just sounds so cozy, so think of it as a little treat for the Danish-speaking folks out there, or maybe a good chance to brush up your Danish skills.

The concept is simple and pleasant at the same time. You enjoy a rustic dinner in a really candlelight dinner way while pampering your ears with poetry from some of the most inspiring writers in DK.

Each time with a new dinner menu put together for the occasion. And each time with new storytellers to make your dinner just a little more cozy.

16 May: Nørrebro Edition

Nørrebro Edition is celebrating the everyday photo enthusiasts in Outer Nørrebro, as part of Copenhagen Photo Festival. On this day the DSB area will be hosting the main exhibition ‘Images from Outer Nørrebro’.

Last year the book was released by culture and integration project BazarMusicShop and design agency WeLiveHere. All snapshots of Nørrebro showing the identity of the young people from the neighborhood.

Apart from the exhibition you can follow the photo battle competition on the big screen and vote for your favorite picture by cheering or buuh’ing.

During the day there will be live performances on stage by local artists such as the Nørrebro rapper Vakili, Flækkers Crew, Mjølnerparken and Jasmin.
