If you are slowly recovering after Roskilde Festival, this is the event to attend – A summer night with jazz, performance, exhibition, sales and ice cream.
Jægersborggade will be buzzing with life and jazz from artists such as Mads La Cour & Kalas, ASE and others.
Skin’n’Bone Tattoo goes Viking with twist bread for the kids and mead for the adults.
Retro will introduce an alcoholic aperitif from Italy and Ro Chokolade serves blackcurrant sorbet – Both very suitable for the summer days and nights.
Damernes Magasin will start their summer sale, so drop by and get 40% off everything from Best Behavior, Ganni and Wauw.
So if you are looking for a low-key and cozy experience, visit Jægersborggade Thursday from 17-20.

Skt. Hans Torv, Guldbergsgade, Blågårdsgade and the surrounding streets; Nørrebro.
Show map
free
14:00 – late // free
It is Distortion thursday and I’m still going strong – this time at Nørrebro. Apart from all the sweet street parties all around Nørrebro, I especially think the followings are worth checking out:
Red Cross Youth is hosting a Distortion charity event. The beers are cheep and the sausages red. AND it takes place at Nørrebro park – bring your blanket and take a nap if you haven’t had much sleep from the day before.
Pukemaster is hosting a rather interesting event, where you are a piece in a big scale board game called “sex in the grass”. Apart from being a playing party piece - drinks are nice and cheep – and if you get tired of beers and booze, they even serve wine (!).

Pilestræde in inner Copenhagen and the surrounding area.
Show map

14:00 – late // free
The followings are (some of) the parties I’m going to check out when Distortion trashes inner city:
200 free sandwiches and chillout at Zefside – down by the channels. A slow starter.
Free shots and a sailor rave theme at Rezet Store. These guys really know how to party and how to make you aware of the theme of the party (I personally know for a fact) .
You. Simply. Must. Go. Here. PromilleService blows your rave heart out – trust me. I’ve experienced them live several times at Roskilde Festival. Promise to stop by!

Under Knippels Bridge (towards Christianshavn)
Show map
Free entrance, menu 42 Dkk.
17:30-20:30 both days // Free entrance, menu 42 Dkk.
Do you appreciate genuine everyday meals? Over an open fire under the bridge, sun in your face, swinging vibrations of New Orleans Jazz in your ears and the sound of waves rocking the waterfront?
Then you should definitely go down past Aarstiderne who will open a two-day only restaurant under Knippelsbro.
Aarstiderne are known for delivering organic fruit and vegetable boxes to your door and so there will be one meal on the menu in the POP-UP restaurant for 42 Dkk. per person. The exact same price as if you get all commodities delivered as a meal box and cook it yourself.
Wine wholesaler Rosforth & Rosforth will be selling rustic wine from the wine bar. So just bring a good appetite and when you reach the bridge then go for the smell of herbs and hot spices. See you under the bridge.

Blågårdsgade, 2200 Copenhagen N
Show map
free
From 14:00-late // free
Look forward to a local atmosphere when the well-known Nørrebro street takes on the annual street party. Summer has hit Copenhagen and this is one of the many occasions where the city has the possibility to show its very best.
Three stages around Blågårdsgade will make sure that everyone is entertained, and during the day, you can also find a flea market by the Church. Usually it is a good chance to hang out, bump into friends and share some nice food and drinks.
If you are a party animal, then go for one of the after-parties at Stengade, Støberiet or Global.
There’s plenty of 2200 Love for all.

The cats and kittens of the Copenhagen swing community are finally hanging out again!
This means that curious people get the opportunity to try out the best moves from swing, jitterbug and lindy hop.
The instructions will be in english and danish, and there is absolutely no need to be scared of tripping over your feet. It is just a matter of having fun.
You don’t need to dress up in any way and you don’t need to bring a partner. The swing-DJ will be in his place and in this foolishly happy crowd you will easily get carried away.
So spend your sunday on something real and go move your feet like there’s no tomorrow.

March 11th a couple of Hello Copenhageners went to Brorsons Church to listen to electro/ alternative music.
When we got there, people were lying all over the floor, just giving into the music. The only light came from the Vj’s light maschine which gave the whole experience a sinister fairytale feeling.
I’m sure this event will be in my top ten events of this year and I hope it was not the last time the church gets invaded by light and soothing sounds.
My friend and photographer Kenneth Nguyen covered the event:
