HELLO COPENHAGEN

Exactly one year ago my friend Charlotte and I launched Hello Copenhagen for the first time – with some help from Genau.

The idea was to bring the other side of Copenhagen out in the open to those people new to the city, or to those being just a bit too lazy themselves to keep updated. Well, actually this is still the idea, and I hope you can use it.

In the meantime, Charlotte has left Hello Copenhagen. But lucky for me, new cool people have joined the site: Mai Ji and Ronni – crazy, energetic lovers of Copenhagen. And maybe, more people will join us soon to keep everything up and running.

All in all, after one year Hello Copenhagen is still here – curious and adventurous as ever, just wanting to show you the best of Copenhagen from our odd point of view. And most importantly, we have a great time doing it!

We look forward to see what 2010 has in store – and we’ll see you around…

The UN Climate Change Conference is filling up Copenhagen with lots of people from all around the world. We really like the fact that Copenhagen for once is embracing the rest of the world. But if you are not all about politics, bureaucratics and cool cash, there are also other ways to engage and experience the climate debate.

Besides the events Expanded Space and July in December, here are a few events during the climate conference in Copenhagen:

PEOPLE’S CLIMATE SUMMIT
The People’s Climate Summit is a counterpart to the UN conference in Bella Center. The alternative summit serves as a civil, NGO-driven event and is the largest climate event in Copenhagen besides the official COP15.

The summit is open for concerned citizen from around the world and everyone are welcome to go here and take part in the debate together with activists, academics, artists and writers and many others.

VESTERBRO SUSTAINABLE TOUR
Take a walking tour together with Copenhagen X and hear about urban development, bicycle policies, sustainability and Copenhagen as an environmental city. The tour starts at the City Hall Square and continues to the meat city area, Otto Krabbes Plads, Hedebygade and ends up at Vesterbro Square.

Meet up at the Future Cities Pavilion on the City Hall Square.

FUTURE CITY
The Danish Architecture Centre is hosting this exhibition that show technological and other sustainable solutions already implemented in the battle against climate change. Take a bike ride around the cities of Barcelona, London, LA, New York, Mexico City, Jakarta, Johannesburg, Sao Paolo and Toronto.

PENGUIN GREEN MACHINE
Interactive exhibition placing focusin on the new sustainable area in Nordhavn. Go for a guidet segway tour, build your own future city, visit Penguin Army’s time machine and make a wish for a green future.

A new unique food event is starting out. CPH Meal is about having memorable food in unique surroundings. The first meal will take place on the 19 September and will consist of six courses, six glasses of wine, snacks and champagne. The price is 1,200 DKK

Three great chefs will make sure you can enjoy exceptional food in a laid back and relaxed atmosphere. After the meal, there are coffee and ales and you can have a chat with the chefs.
