This is the opening of Kopenhagen Comptemporary, which is a four day celebration of the vibrant art scene in Copenhagen in collaboration with the city’s 50 leading galleries.

This event will be the grand opening of 7 different openings on Vesterbro. There will be performances, DJs, visuals, drinks, beers, sausages and thai food. What more can one want.

Remember to bring cash.

Kopenhagen Contemporary will take place from 2-5 September in galleries and venues all over Copenhagen.

It all started with a blog: easy recipes that can be made by anyone proving that food can be pretty and tasty. Its creator – Daniel Penn (recently awarded with Raymond Blanc young chefs award), decided to go further with his project and publish a zine presenting his recipes in an artistic way in a form of a cookbook.

This time his project is taken into a whole new level – the principle is that food should be a part of our lives as well as music. Therefore, what we will experience is an exhibition of table settings instead of food photos as well as three bands accompanying the whole event: The Kites, Michael Wexler from Inlet Sound and Cavio. Paintings on the walls are done by the artist of previously published cookbook, Samantha Taylor. We should expect fabulous caramel popcorn.

Exhibition runs into July.

Six of Copenhagen’s libraries are now trying to strengthen local youth and has recruited six young people to help this ongoing process.

The goal was to create a platform that includes both exchange of experience and different types of events – but not only at the libraries.

Therefore Demoteket has been created and in celebration of their opening, they have set up a giant circus tent in the middle of Fælledparken.

When you enter the tent your nose will meet the smell of candyfloss and popcorn. People will be drinking both slush ice and cheap beers and ofcourse lots of dancing is garanteed by the following line-up:

WAS invites you inside a mashed-up, chaotic yet cozy and tactile room for art experience. Sounds like its gonna be with a hint of a livingroom where you can throw your legs on the table.

15 artists are participating in this group show with photography, print, sculpture, collage, drawing and painting. The exhibition will run until January 15.

I guess the opening will have some of the usual ingredients of drinks, chatting and mingling.

MALL, a new second hand store will be opening this December in Jægersborggade on Nørrebro. In this event they will be hosting an opening party where wine, beer and glögg will be served.

The concept of the store is to have their shop separated into smaller chunks, e.g. shoes, jewelry and clothes, inspired by traditional malls.

They also invite all designers and artists to have their vernissage, exhibitions, etc. inside the store.

Ung Kunst – meaning Young Art – is a six-day festival and exhibition in Råhuset featuring young Danish artists. 40 artists will show painting, photography, installation, video, sculpture, dance etc. Thulebasen will be performing at the opening.

Besides the exhibition, you can and participate in workshops and artist talks.

Ung Kunst is taking place from 23 – 28 October 2009. Yoyo Oyoy is in charge of the music on Sunday.
