Kopenhagen Contemporary Opening GaloreThis is the opening of Kopenhagen Comptemporary, which is a four day celebration of the vibrant art scene in Copenhagen in collaboration with the city’s 50 leading galleries.

This event will be the grand opening of 7 different openings on Vesterbro. There will be performances, DJs, visuals, drinks, beers, sausages and thai food. What more can one want.

Remember to bring cash.

Kopenhagen Contemporary will take place from 2-5 September in galleries and venues all over Copenhagen.

Go for the release of the book called ‘Will I Go To Hell For This’ – a Danish book about graffiti on the Copenhagen S-trains from 1984 to 2009.

You can be among one of the first to check out this 264 page long book. But remember to bring cash if you want to buy it. It is 400 Dkk and there will also be other limited edition goodies for sale exclusively on this day.

wasWAS invites you inside a mashed-up, chaotic yet cozy and tactile room for art experience. Sounds like its gonna be with a hint of a livingroom where you can throw your legs on the table.

15 artists are participating in this group show with photography, print, sculpture, collage, drawing and painting. The exhibition will run until January 15.

I guess the opening will have some of the usual ingredients of drinks, chatting and mingling.

BFFIn June 2010, the Bicycle Film Festival hits Copenhagen for the first time. Until then you can see a series of international short films – all centered around bicycles.

21 August: ‘Ear City’ Opening

The exhibition by Uffe Holm takes point of departure in the area of Ørestad, which can be directly translated into the name of the exhibition.

On the exhibition you can see sound and light works as well as collages that deal with the city as a utopian or mental concept, or as an optical illusion.

The exhibtion will be open until 30 August. Opening hours 14-17.

6 August: Unfair Opening Reception

V1 Gallery is hosting the opening of ‘Le Petite Mort’  - a solo exhibition by Anika Lori.

La Petite Mort is like a diary of images, a playful treasure trove of identities, of feelings and frustrations, of repressions and realizations as well as of vulnerable fascination.

During the opening, there will be a performance by Miss Fish & Anika Lori.

Afterparty takes place next door at Jolene from 22-late night with Djuna Barnes, Thomas Leth, Nanna Thylstrup & Miss Lori.

Celebrate the opening of Urban Treasure Hunt 2009 and join the party at Julius Thomsens Gade. Grab a beer and a dance!

To go for the treasure hunt, find the orange TV in Flæsketorvet (the Meat City) and you are already on the treasure hunt! Follow the clues and collect the numbers, which you will need to open the treasure in the end. So don’t miss any clues.

The treasure hunt will uncover the streets of Vesterbo and make you familier with the colourful sides of the quater. Go anytime between 17 July – 2 August.

26 june: Vernissage: SHOK-nordic art photography

Experience photographic art while not missing out on the summer sun! A solo exhibition will open in the City of Copenhagen outside of the usual gallery space.

200 posters with 15 photographic works and 45 individual works can be seen by the Round Tower.

The vernis will take place just across the Round Tower at Købmagergade. At 19:00 hrs the party will move to Byens Kro in Møntergade 8.

The exhibition is hosted by the SHOK – nordic art photography.
