1 February: Street fashion reception

no entrance fee

16:00 – 19:00 // no entrance fee

As you may know,  this week has been declared fashion week in Copenhagen.

This of course means a lot of “hard to reach” parties and closed doors – but it also means small receptions and free drinks.

Rezet Store is a fairly new (and my personal favorite) sneaker store in Copenhagen. It’s a bit secluded from the busy Strøget and has a welcoming atmosphere.

The small shop is host when the ‘street’ brand Moustage is launching their new collection – their first collection was completely sold out, so I guess if you are into street fashion, this would not be a bad place to get some shopping inspiration.

Also there will be vodka/Burn for the thirsty and of course a dj will be spreading the good vibes.

Afterparty at Mesteren & Lærlingen at meetpacking district (Kødbyen)

21:00 – 05:00 // no entrance fee

Bitchslap magazine – one of the coolest independant magazines in the DK. If you don’t know it yet, I suggest you find a free copy in one of the hotspots they’re distributed to. Or even better – snatch a copy at the Bitchslap#14 release party.

Bitchslap, to me, is subculture, street, art, fashion, design, photography, music and coolness. Check it out.

At the party, there’ll be dj’s, a (supposedly) legendary dance competition, 20,- bar and free Tuborg Gold from 21:00 – 22:00.

See event on facebook.

Cosy Bar, Studiestræde 24, Copenhagen K Show map

20:00-02:00 // free entrance

CGLFF stands for Copenhagen Gay & Lesbian Film Festival and this year the group of volunteers behind the festival will welcome you to ‘la grande’ silver wedding party, meaning that CGLFF celebrates it’s 25th edition.

This makes CGLFF the longest running gay and lesbian film festival in the world.

To mark the anniversary the crew invites you to the silver wedding at Cosy Bar, which will serve as a program release at the same time for the more than sixty films on the program.

Said in the festival’s own words “We challenge sexual stereotypes. We show films that deal with gender policy and reflect a diverse reality. Films that inspire and/or simply entertains and lightens up the party”. That sounds cool.

On the night there will be ‘pindemadder’ (mini stick sandwiches), free cider from Somersby, hurrays and lots of nice tunes provided by Kim Kemi, Djuna Barnes and dj GUL.

28 May: ‘Generation Kan Selv’ – book release

Posted 24 May 2010 by Mai Ji

@ Jolene bar, Meatpacking District, Copenhagen V
19:00-22:00 // Free entrance

In celebration of the publication of the book ‘Generation Kan Selv’ you are invited to the release party at Jolene Bar. The book is an anthology about a generation – by a generation.

A group of selected young people from different parts of the Danish political and creative layer has been tasked to relate to their own generation through text and picture: Who are we, how are we and why do we do it?

Through personal and honest essays they each relate to being a part of something that is not yet defined – something as abstract as a generation.

So drop by and meet some of the contributors, enjoy a glass of wine og listen to nice tunes by Cecilie Brandel. At the event you will have the chance to buy the book with a 25% discount – so bring cash.

Fashion week had slowly arrived and we can experience it in various of ways. One of them is attending a release of more-than-a-fashion magazine ” Tea Paper”. It seems like a good opportunity to meet people who are interested in fashion and art, with a bottle of beer (hosts are providing a 1000) and good music.

Due to the day- Friday, there will also be an afterparty with the performance of The Immigrant Punks. So, as the catchy line of “Tea Paper” says: “pack your heels, grab your balls, wash your underwear, and come early – cus this is it”.
