Strong Arms is the artist behind the solo exhibition at the Art Rebels founded VESS – Vesterbro Showroom.

The vernissage is on friday – so before your friday bar, stop by for some chilled beers and music while enjoying art.

In the art department, you can expect detailed illustrations with inspiration primarily found in the animal kingdom – and who knows? you might end up bringing home some decoration for the walls; there will also be affordable posters as an alternative to the original pieces.

3 young artists have interpreted the theme “Forces of Nature”, which have resulted in this joint exhibition hosted by Artrebels.

Stop by, listen to music, watch some art, meet new people and drink the cold refreshment – Is there any better ways to begin your weekend?

The space will be used as a pop-up store in the future, helping young aspiring artist to show and sell their art.

Are your walls bare and boring or do you need to cover up some holes and cracks? Despair not! The creative collective “It’s all good” is here to help you.

This Friday at VESS (VESterbro Showroom) the collective shows their new works, which consists of photography, drawings, paintings and graphic design. The artists displaying their creations are:

Jacob Birch, Martin C. Fagerlund, Anders Gerning, R. F. Hansen, Thoma Pålsson, Simon Rachwan and Martin Ransby.

There will be free beers for the first guests on the opening night. The exhibition runs for the weekend, so if you can’t make it to the opening you can visit these days:

Saturday the 28th of May 14.00 – 20.00 & Sunday the 29th of May 14.00 – 19.00

So drop by and see for yourself if It’s all good.

David Shrigley is one of my favourite artists – and I’m sure he will grab your attention as well.

Shrigley amouses you, makes you wonder and reflect on life – and he does it with the most naive drawings you’ve seen.

The exhibition takes place at Gallery Nicolai Wallner and Carlsberg is the refreshment sponsor (did anyone say free beers?)

The screen printing workshop at The Candy Factory holds a vernissage and this will be celebrated with a party for you and all your friends.

Here you can take a closer look at some of the hand-printed stuff which will also be on sale starting from this night. On the webpage of Gestalt Cartel you can see more prints.

In case of hunger, you can enjoy international cuisine and at 21:00 you can watch the film ‘American Artifact: The Rise of American Rock Poster Art’.

5 November: Bert at Helvetikat

Maybe you’ve noticed the small and quirky characters on your way around the streets of Copenhagen. And perhaps you’ve especially noticed them in connection with road works around the city.

But now you need not to worry anymore because it’s just Bert.

Bert has become known for his striking wooden figures, among others the pink nipples and little maki rolls. And now for the first time the secret sculptor street artist will be exhibiting the colorful characters and it’s happening this Friday in Helvetikat.

As a sneak preview – the guys behind Helvetikat has shot this little film about Bert. And check out his own blog to see more of his work.

The exhibition runs until 30 November – enjoy.

4 June: David Bellemère Exhibition Opening

David Bellemère is a photographer known for particular features in his work. It is a combination of: natural light, architecture,  feminine sensuality and fashion in order to produce ‘eroticized’, yet gracious images.

Today he still works for Italian Marie Claire, French Playboy, Flaunt and Vogue UK whilst developing his personal work and working on advertising campaigns such as Hermès (Eau des Merveilles).

At the One Day Gallery exhibition entitled “Le Soleil au Zenith, Me Surexcite…” (The Sun at Zenith, excites me…), we can probably expected works of Bellemere connected with the ‘S Magazine’. Come and see for yourselves.

27 May: ARTREBELS PAPER CUTS 4.0

This is a chance to see the works of upcoming Danish artists and possibly buy them in the form of posters.  Initiative of the creative group Art Rebels is simple: by creating the series of ‘meetings’ like Paper Cuts they hope to encourage people to get interested in art at the same time being able to buy the pieces for a not too expensive price (300 dkk).

The artists presenting and selling their works will be:

Stine Bjerregaard, Marta Johansen and Cicely Forest.

Paper Cuts posters can be purchased from This Issue and ArtRebels catalog www.artrebels.com. After the vernissage everyone will be encouraged to move to Ritz for the after party with Danny Boy.

5 May: Minuit Vernissage

Come for an artistic fix in the old cinema setting and sip a glass of Pernod together with friends. The Grand cinema once again open their doors for a Minuit Vernissage – this time with artist Anika Lori, who will do a solo exhibition of new cool paintings in the cinema café.

The evening will also consist of a reading by Maria Gerhardt and Sigrun Gudbransdottor.

7 May: Ghost Ris Exhibition Opening

Ghost was born in the Bronx New York City in the mid 60s. He’s characteristic throw up “GH” can be found around the NYC subway and exhibition in “We are related” will reveal another side of this infamous artist with his paintings and drawings.

It is his first exhibition in Denmark, it could be groundbreaking. Come and see for yourself – at the day of opening you will be able to buy his original art works as well as silkscreen prints.

The evening will be accompanied by psychedelic 70s music.

16 April: Wonderland & We Love Organdonation

In collaboration with We Love people and Nyreforeningen (in English: The Kidney Association) the Wonderland crew presents the exhibition ‘Reservedele’ (parts) with the focus on organ donation.

Right now Nyreforeningen launches a campaign whose goal is to get more people to donate organs. That’s why Wonderland now interprets on the issues through an artistic point of view. Thirteen different artists all relate to the idea of man as a machine composed of parts.

This opening night will allow you to enjoy new Danish art, listen to beautiful tunes and drink a cold beer. All profits from the event goes to Nyreforeningen, so don’t hesitate to buy an art piece or an extra beer.
